As a web developer, you will work in the District’s Communications Section to maintain and enhance our Drupal-based internal and external websites. This opportunity will allow you to work independently and as a part of a team, specifically with our Webmaster and communications staff, in an office environment setting. We are particularly seeking an organized, detail-oriented and experienced team member with excellent communication skills to fill this promising position.

Compensation: $62,316.80 – $75,193.46
Pay grade 116. Minimum to approximately 31% annual rates of pay grade displayed. Starting pay will be based upon education and experience.
Essential Functions

Maintain and enhance the organization’s internal and external websites
Refine the existing content management system database performance
Develop new capabilities/processes on the Drupal­-based external site
Work as a liaison between the Communications Section and the Information Technology Bureau
Work with other technical staff to diagnose and troubleshoot web/server/security issues

This position requires ability to perform continuous repetitive tasks (to include keyboarding) with one or both hands. Frequently lifts and carries objects up to 10 pounds, with occasionally lifting and carrying objects up to 20 pounds. This position occasionally requires bending, squatting and reaching above shoulder level. Occasionally required to drive automotive vehicle for 2 hours or more at a time.

Employee may be subject to call­-in outside of regularly scheduled work hours, or required to be on call, including on nights, weekends or holidays, to respond to emergency management activities or other incidents requiring rapid response in support of District operations.

Required Credentials for Web Developer Opportunity

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related multimedia field
Six (6) years of work related experience as a web developer, including content management
Submission of a minimum of three references and project portfolio at time of application
Applications without a project portfolio/submission of work and reference list may not be considered
Valid driver’s license
Preferred Credentials for Web Developer Opportunity

Proven experience with the following:

Drupal site configuration, optimization and maintenance
Ubuntu/Apache server configuration, optimization and maintenance
MySQL
Proficient with Git
Familiar with Composer management
Comfortable running Drush and other command line tools
jQuery javascript libraries and coding
Intergrating LDAP access controls within an intranet environment
Comfortable with responsive web design techniques
Intergrating Web Services using SOAP and REST protocols
Familiarity with SASS, HTML5 and CSS
Additional Details

This position is typically scheduled to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, out of the Brooksville, FL office. This position is eligible for compensatory time for hours worked over 40 hours, in a week.

Travel Required

Yes. Limited travel to other District service offices.
