Foot Locker is looking to hire a Systems Engineer responsible for installing, upgrading, patching, troubleshooting, and maintaining our application software and middleware in coordination with the application development and infrastructure teams. We are growing and you will be working with a highly dedicated team of IT professionals and diving into various technologies such as: Windows, Linux and AIX/UNIX operating systems, Oracle and SQL Databases, Web Servers, and Application Services.

Install, upgrade, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain application software and middleware.
Creating process flows and documentation required for implementation.
Creating data structures and querying databases.
Developing, executing, and documenting test plans.
Escalate project related issues with a sense of urgency and meet established deadlines.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to solve problems, support, and coordinate system implementations.
Provide on-call support of production applications.
Support special projects or activities.
Solve complex problems and design appropriate solutions.
Stay abreast of current technology trends as it relates to development languages, tools, and databases.

Background in IT as a System Administrator, Systems Engineer or other relevant technical position.
Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Windows, Linux, AND AIX/UNIX operating systems.
Scripting skills, preferably with PowerShell.
Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Experience with Web Servers/Services and Application Servers.
Knowledge of Network and Security Protocols.
Experience with Data Storage solutions and File System construction and management.
Experience with working with application software vendors.
High energy and proactive approach with a passion for mentoring.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional teams.
Azure Cloud experience a plus.
Java programming skills a plus.
Certifications a plus (MCSCE, Oracle Java, CCNP, Red Hat, A+, Network+, CCNA, MSCA, MCSP, etc.)
On-call support as part of a rotation within the team. This requires 24×7 availability.
