Foot Locker, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop and deploy reliable distributed solutions that operate at Footlocker scale specifically in their Core Merchandizing IT team. You will help tackle a diverse landscape of technical challenges and you will play an active role in translating business requirements into concrete systems and prototyping concepts involving technology leaders within the team and across the business and get an opportunity to work with a variety of core languages and technologies including but not limited to Java, Linux, Azure services, Apache Spark, Mongo, Cassandra, MySQL, Java Spring and Kafka and related technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Define, create and enhance brand new/existing products and services that will radically improve core retail experiences in key strategic areas , such as Product Master, Allocation, Planning etc.
Translate business objectives into technical solutions understanding how it will impact and align with overall strategy.
Design and implement RESTful API’s using proven design principles and patterns.
Design and develop utility functions and cross cutting modules.
Lead and mentor other members to build scalable applications with best practices.
Work in an Agile/Scrum test driven development environment.
Develop unit and functional tests for the code developed.
Collaborate with multiple cross functional teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a software developer.
Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, problem solving.
Knowledge of modern programming languages and technologies, such as Java, Hazel Cast, ReactJS, NodeJS, Cassandra/Mongo, Kubernetes.
Creating and modeling REST APIs (WebAPI/JSON).
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
Azure experience is a strong plus.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide systems.
Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
