Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to be part of our Operations team providing support for a network infrastructure and VMware implementation deployed in multiple data center locations. The candidate should have demonstrable skills in network architecture design and engineering, as well as in network monitoring and troubleshooting. Candidate should also possess disaster recovery and business continuity planning, implementation and analysis experience. The candidate will perform various roles including research and design, testing, implementation, physical systems installation, configuration and network monitoring. In addition to the design, specification, configuration, implementation and maintenance of new networks and related systems, the candidate will be responsible for similar activities involving our existing network infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor network performance.
Participate in network and/or system incident investigations.
Collaborate with Systems Engineers to optimize system performance.
Design, develop, implement, and maintain network infrastructure.
Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
Monitor network performance and integrity.
Conduct network modeling and analysis.
Select, recommend and install data communications components configured to meet the company’s needs.
Design, recommend and implement new solutions to improve the resilience and disaster recovery capability of network operations.
Define, document, and enforce system standards.
Secure network systems with policies that define and monitor access.
Perform initial setup, configuration and implementation of system routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, load balancers and other network hardware.
Manage IP addressing scheme.
Configure DNS servers.
Assist security team in managing security events.
Schedule updates and upgrades to networking equipment.
Assist in network vendor management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will have five (5) or more years of experience with the following:
Knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and other routing protocols
LAN/WAN, wireless and wired networks including servers, routers, switches, gateways and related hardware/appliances.
Experience managing MPLS networks.
Proficiency in SolarWinds, or similar network monitoring system.
Proficient with firewall and load balancing technologies.
Ability to diagnose and investigate network problems:
Performing intense troubleshooting, including ability to monitor, intercept, and decode data as it is in transit.
Use of network sniffers (e.g. Wireshark Packet Sniffer) for protocol analyses.
Determination of root cause analyses.
Proficiency in WAN and LAN design and architecture.
And working knowledge in two (2) or more of the following areas:
Cisco ASA firewalls, routers and wireless LAN controllers.
Radware AppDirector and Alteon load balancers.
Cisco UCS server infrastructure.
Security administration and platform hardening.
Flowcharting and network diagramming (Visio, etc.).
Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Credentials and Experience:
A degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Systems or a related field is desired, but in-job experience will be considered. Previous hands on experience as a network engineer or network administrator is preferred. One or more of the following certifications are required for consideration:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
CompTIA Network+

Leading and coordinating troubleshooting efforts as required.
Resolving and closing tickets in accordance with organization and customer SLAs.
Ensuring network components are patched with the latest approved software versions, security updates, and hotfixes.
Conducting research to improve performance of the network environment in order to provide long-term stability and availability.
On-call rotation duty.
Conducting after-hour maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
Performing other duties as may be assigned.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
