Nielsen is looking for a Developer/Analyst in its TechOps, Quality and Performance (TQ&P) team to develop and implement reporting solutions and other technical initiatives for the Watch Technology (Watch CTO) organization.


The TQ&P team provides enablement functions for Watch CTO which drive the organization toward the strategic goal of Everyday Excellence. These functions include
* Deployment and adoption of standard tools which streamline and automate internal processes
* Definition and reporting of metrics and KPIs that give clear and actionable insight into organizational performance and progress towards our goals
* Identification and dissemination of best practices which facilitate consistent delivery of Quality outcomes for our internal and external clients
* Leadership, coaching and guidance of Watch CTO development teams and stakeholders through the on-going adoption of SAFe (Agile) practices

Nielsen is looking for a candidate who can effectively contribute to the reporting and automation initiatives undertaken by the team. They will be expected to analyze the reporting/automation requirements identified for Watch CTO and develop/implement effective solutions within an agreed timeframe. The incumbent is expected to partner with cross-functional teams to identify sources of data and the appropriate methods for gathering, harmonizing and visualizing data in a way that presents actionable insights. They will also be expected to work with Operational teams on automation projects utilizing the UiPath robotic process automation (RPA) toolset.

Specific Responsibilities Include (but not limited to)
* Convert business requirements to technical specs
* Review technical specs with product owner
* Develop and test solution including all required elements e.g. ETL functions as well as reporting visualizations
* Collaborate with other TQ&P team members as well as staff in other supporting functions (e.g. the RPA Center ofExcellence) who may need to contribute to the solution
* Demo solution to product owner to gain acceptance/sign-off
* Rapidly learn new tools and technologies to support the changing needs of the business

* Bachelor’s degree in business, systems analysis, or computer science
* Solid 2-3 years application development experience in a dynamic business environment
* An ability to rapidly learn new tools and skills
* Attention to detail, focus on quality
* Effective communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
* Ability to effectively manage own time and priorities
* Strong understanding of database design principles
* Database development experience using various DB platforms (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, Postgresql, MS Access)
* Hands-on programming experience with multiple scripting/programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Javascript, VBA, VBScript, TSQL, PL/SQL)
* Experience with code management practices and standard source management systems (e.g. Git, GitHub, BitBucket)
* Experience using standard RDMS tools (e.g. SSMS, DBVisualizer)
* Data analysis experience creating effective visualizations to drive actionable intelligence
* Experience with Enterprise reporting tools (Spotfire, MicroStrategy or similar)
* Experience with data integration products (specifically Dell Boomi)
* Programming experience with Google AppScript
* Prior experience with process automation tools (e.g. UiPath)
* Familiarity with Google Business Suite
* Knowledge of Agile development practices
