Join Nielsen as a Technical Product Manager in its Digital Product Management organization to drive product development for the Digital Data Reference Systems (DDRS) Team. Nielsen is looking for a candidate who can lead product development as efficiently as possible in the context of the business and technical requirements with direct accountability for the operational stability and efficiency associated with a given component, product or portfolio. The Technical Product Manager is expected to partner with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives related to new product development. As a TPM you will work closely with our Product Managers & Specialists teams to understand the needs of our clients and use this perspective to drive priorities across Technology, Data Science, and Operations.

Become technical expert in sub-pod measurement product(s)s – with deep understanding of end-to-end systems architecture and data flow as well as marketplace dynamics, key clients and use cases

Collaborate within and across super scrum to build and execute against aligned roadmap and play critical role in refining requirements and iterating on development

Leverage Agile best practices to execute against roadmap with flexibility and ultimately ship the right product at the right time

Take and drive accountability for overall health of super scrum including profitability and accuracy / robustness of data

Specific Responsibilities:
* Owns super scrum intake, sizing, prioritization, story quality including acceptance criteria and testing
* Break down features / user stories such that tech, ops and data science teams can successfully execute the work
* Manage and prioritize team-level backlogs and milestones
* Lead product iteration and delivery, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency
* Pull in appropriate cross functional team members when they are not part of the Sub Pod or Super Scrum teams
* Ensure alignment on scope across all stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of product development
* Manage priority shifts based on industry changes to effectively address them
* Provide clear and concise communication to stakeholders regarding progress as necessary
* Facilitate agile ceremonies & drive the execution of work within scrum teams (Standups, Sprint Planning, Retrospective, Demos, Backlog Grooming)

Required Qualifications
* Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science related field preferred (Computer Science, Computer and Information Technology, Systems Analysis & Design, Management Information Systems, Information Sciences and Technology, IT Management, Management Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Decision Support Systems)
* Experience with Scrum as an Agile development framework
* Subject matter expert in technologies relevant for digital content measurement
* A bias for change and the ability to influence a team toward a culture of quality
* Strong communication, persuasion, interpersonal, and presentation skills
* Ability to effectively manage multiple competing initiatives
* Ability to listen and quickly distill information to recommend a course of action in driving project deliverables or client escalations
* Client-facing experience with the ability to translate between internal and external client needs
* Digital Media, in particular, Advertising industry experience is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of industry experience.
* Minimum 2 years of software engineering/development experience.
* Minimum 1 year of experience as a Technical Product Owner. Preferred candidate should have a proven track record and experience necessary to advocate for and establish product management best practices at Nielsen.
* Experience with Atlassian toolset is desired
* Experience with object oriented programming languages like C++, Java, Objective C, Swift, etc.
* Experience with web technologies like Apache, Tomcat, Hibernate, SQL, etc.
* Experience with Cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, and etc.
* Experience with industry relevant operating systems like Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.
* Experience with databases like mySQL, Oracle, etc.
* Experience working with geographically distributed teams a plus.
