Content Specialist

The Content Specialist will responsible for assisting the Content Manager in generating compelling content for lead generation and brand-building objectives. The Content Specialist position will be tasked with writing content primarily focused on information security, compliance, cybersecurity, and auditing. Content will range from short to long-form in a variety of different mediums.

An ideal candidate for the Content Specialist position must be comfortable with learning complex ideas and processes and distilling them into easily-understandable content for a mass audience. Experience with writing marketing content for a technical industry is a plus, but not mandatory. The Content Specialist should exhibit exceptional communication skills and an eagerness to gain in-depth knowledge of A-LIGN’s industry, products, business, and the needs of A-LIGN’s clients.

REPORTS TO: Content Manager

• Assist the content manager in creating content that drives digital marketing efforts including: blog posts, whiteboards, case studies, infographics, sales collateral, emails and other marketing materials
• Self-edit and proofread to support the need to generate assets that will promote corporate growth
• Track projects and ensure that deadlines are met and communicated across various stakeholders
• Maintain flexibility with the work produced, while being open and comfortable with individual feedback
• Pursue continuous learning opportunities through clients, competition, target audiences or industry trends to improve engagement/effectiveness
• Demonstrate exceptional writing, editing and marketing skills (proofreading, mastery of the English language, able to ensure brand consistency and tone of voice)
• Consult with key stakeholders as if they are clients, ranging from technical personnel, to subject matter experts, to executive leadership
• Communicate frequently with Content Manager to determine new marketing opportunities, provide project updates and note possible roadblocks as soon as they appear


Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related discipline

• 2 years of marketing or marketing asset production/copywriting experience
• Prior agency or freelance experience supporting multiple clients and industries is preferable
• Experience writing for a variety of audiences across various knowledge levels of the sales funnel
• Technical writing or experience writing for technology (specifically IT, cybersecurity and privacy) preferred

• Above average attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines with a high degree of motivation
• Excellent communication skills
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work individually as well as collaboratively
• Experience with WordPress or similar CMS preferred
• Understanding of inbound marketing, content marketing and SEO a plus
